Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, often referred to as Sea-Tac, is the main airfield serving the cities of Seattle, Tacoma, and the rest of the Puget Sound.
The airport is located roughly halfway between Seattle and Tacoma near Burien and the city of SeaTac. More than 28.8 million passengers and 346,000 metric tons of air cargo passed through Sea-Tac in 2004, ranking it as the 22nd busiest commercial-service airport in the United States.
The airport offers a full range of scheduled flight services provided by many domestic and international carriers. Alaska Airlines and its sibling Horizon Air have their bases of operations here.
Sea-Tac is operated by the Port of Seattle, which also handles seaport operations along the Seattle waterfront.
