The San Juan Islands are an archipelago located about 100 miles north of Seattle. There are almost 700 islands and reefs that make up the group, 450 of which are large enough to be named. There are approximately 13,000 people that live full time in the San Juans.

The Islands are a world famous destination for boaters. Many good anchorages make the islands suitable for cruising and the intense beauty brings out thousands of boats each summer. There are several Washington State Parks in the Islands that provide services for boaters including mooring floats and buoys, campsites, restroom facilities and pump outs.

The Islands are also a popular destination for bicyclists. The islands are small but hilly providing some challenging rides, and lots of scenery.
