The City of Seattle has a Mayor, 9 member City Council and Court system.

The current Seattle Mayor is Greg Nickels. First elected to office in 2001, Mayor Nickels won reelection in 2005.
His priorities are:
- Get Seattle moving
- Keep the neighborhoods safe
- Create jobs and opportunity for all
- Build strong families and healthy communities
