Discovery Park is a 534 acre park in the Magnolia neighborhood and is Seattle's largest park. The park contains the historic grounds of Fort Lawton, a military reserve. At the tip of the peninsula, that contains the park, is West Point Lighthouse; Fort Lawton and West Point Lighthouse are both on the National Register of Historic Places. The Park also contains many trails, forest groves, thickets, small sand dunes, and rocky tidal beaches. Animals that can be seen are harbor seals, California sea lions, small mammals, and many wild birds, including the Bald Eagle. The United Indians of All Tribes' Daybreak Star Cultural Center is also located here, and they sometimes throw pow wows for Seafair Indian Days.
